Spooky Halloween Event

The Halloween Dance was a great success.  What a great, fun filled afternoon! Thank you to all who helped out during the event.  A special thank you to the MTHS high school students who helped setup, run and clean up after the event. You were all awesome!   Also, a huge thank you to the coordinators, Val and Sandi and their families, who did an incredible amount of work before, during and after this fantastic event.  We also appreciate all the parents who took some time during the event to help out!

 

Mark Your Calendars:

The next meeting of the council will be on Thursday, November 13th at 6:30 in the Computer Room of the Learning Commons. All parents are welcome to attend.  Agenda will be posted prior to the meeting on the school webpage.

 

Our main fundraiser of the year is currently in  progress. REMINDER: Your order form and payment are due Friday, November 14th.  If you are not familiar with MacMillan’s you can check out their products here: http://www.macmillans.ca/ We have received great feedback on their products!  Delivery of the product will be on December 9th.  Pickup details will be provided closer to the Dec. 9th date.

 

On November 20th , the Council will be hosting a session on “Restorative Practices”. The event is to provide parents with an overview and understanding of what Restorative Practices are and how it is being used at MPB.  Restorative Practices is a proactive approach to building a positive school environment. It provides staff, students and parents tools to help improve relationships and behaviour in a positive way. On December 12th, we will have our Sleigh Ride event. Come out and enjoy a sleigh ride with your family.  More details to come soon!

 

Volunteers Needed!!

 Planning and organizing events such as the Halloween Dance for the school requires many volunteers.  For our last few events, the number of volunteers has been minimal resulting in a small group of parents doing the majority of the work.  We need you to help so that our children can continue to enjoy events such as the Sleigh Ride and YearEnd BBQ.  Please consider taking some time out of your busy schedule to help make these events happen.   The Sleigh Ride event will hold a planning session immediately after the council meeting on November 13th.  A BBQ committee needs to be in place by the end of December for this event to be planned successfully.
